Unfortunately we have had to cancel our performance at the Drop-D showcase in Cyprus Avenue on March 6th, due to things we simply cannot control. We have also had to re-schedule our gig in The Meeting Place, Midleton. It will take place on the following date.

The Dardanelles have almost completed the recording of their e.p. with Simon Widdowson. The four tracks are nearing the mastering stage and will be wrapped up soon. A release date has yet to be confirmed and artwork and title will be revealed here first in the not too distant future, so keep an eye out. Simon is an experienced engineer and producer who recorded and produced the Decemberists' first album "Castaways and Cutouts", of whom we're fans. In the meantime there some upcoming gigs to be played, which are:

The Dardanelles will play their last gig of 2006 next Friday, December 22nd. The Meeting Place, Midleton, is the venue and the gig kicks off at 9.30pm. There is no cover charge and support comes from Nick & the Boys. We'll take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year! Thank you all for your support for this past year, we look forward to seeing you on the other side of the big night.

The next Dardanelles gig happens in McDaid's, Midleton on Friday, December 1st. Support on the night comes from Yom, who will be accompanied by some friends so be sure to get down early and check him out. The show kicks off at 10pm and admission is free!
The Dardanelles play the Quad, Tuckey Street, Cork on Friday, November 17th. The gig kicks off at 10pm and entry is free. The band are also preparing to go into the studio and record e.p. no. 2.

On Saturday, October 14th the Dardanelles will be taking part in "Rock For Jocker" in the Two Mile Inn. This event is in honour of James "Jocker" McCarthy, a musician local to Midleton. The gig kicks off at 8.00pm and also features Uncle John's Band, the Vital Signs, Exit the Street and more! Entry cost is 10 euro and all proceeds go to the "Let's Get Together" foundation in Midleton.

The Dardanelles launch their debut e.p. "Coming Up For Air" on Sunday, June 4th in Cyprus Avenue. A copy of the e.p, which contains Murder Me, The Best of Emily Dickinson and Friends Know Better is included in the cost of entry. Support on the night comes from singer/songwriter Aaron Dillon. Doors open at 9.00pm.
Ideal End, The Dardanelles and Kian Walsh (of Exit the Street) play Cyprus Avenue,Caroline St. Cork on Sunday March 26th. Doors open at 8.30pm. 7 euro.
At the end of the month the Dardanelles will go into the studio to record a new demo e.p. They will be recording 3 songs, which are: The Best of Emily Dickinson, Murder Me (sorrow's song) and Friends Know Better. The band are currently preparing for the session and planning to take to the stage also in the very near future. More news on how to acquire the new recording will be posted up when all plans are finalised.
